We have seen positive outcomes as a result of these activities and particularly in terms of the development of self-confidence. When young people were asked what they thought of the Martial Arts session’s responses included: ‘Fantastic because it teaches me how to defend myself and gives me exercise” “Wonderful, because it gives me experience and good fitness with exercise” “Martial Arts give me good improvement in my exercise skills and keeps my muscles moving. Good instructors”
Action for kids Charity
SAS Martial Arts have been running a highly successful afterschool club for us for the last seven years. Their staff are excellent and reliable and establish positive relationships with 30 year 2-6 children who love the club. The club provides a positive environment with excellent schemes of learning. It increases the children’s confidence and their sporting skills. The older children act as role models to the younger children and model their moves alongside the tutors. Our partnership with SAS Martial Arts is a strong one and they contribute greatly to our school community.
Southgrove primary school
Over the 30 weeks the programme has run at Leyton the numbers and ages of young people attending has increased dramatically with returning and new members attending. The reasons for this vary, but after speaking with one parent the sessions helped his son’s who was being bullied to increase his confidence and channel his anger in an acceptable way. His son had also advised that the sessions were fun.
